The word bokeh is derived from Japanese describing the visual quality in which a lens reproduces the out-of-focus area of an image.

Who is bokehcambodia?
Michael Gillich, the creative person behind bokehcambodia has worked as a professional freelance photographer and designer – for periods of time also in local ad agencies – in Cambodia for half a decade. He has a vast knowledge about the local advertising market and the needs of consumers and industry professionals here.
As a photographer Michael is incredibly technical and thorough, yet remaining aware of the moment. His photographs are rich and vibrant. He possesses extensive digital-imaging skills and a solid foundation in studio and location lighting.
Michael lives and works in Phnom Penh, but is available for assignments on location throughout Cambodia. When not shooting, Michael spends his days with his wife and daughter traveling or just having a good time together.
Michael is the winner of the inaugural Phnom Penh Post Photo Contest 2009. He is the co-founder | co-owner of monsoonpictures asia [2006 to early 2009] that since then has been dissolved.
His work has been featured in many major local advertising campaigns on billboards, in national print ads and TVCs. Michael has appeared as a guest speaker on Apple hardware and Raw Image-Processing and as a photography consultant on recent local Canon and Apple events. His stock images are sold worldwide.

Files are edited on a hardware-calibrated NEC wide-gamut screen and stored on a RAID backup-system.
We work only with the latest-generation quality equipment from [APC], [Apple], [Bowens], [Canon], [Lexar], [Manfrotto], [NEC], [Rode], [Tiffen], [Wacom], [Western Digital] and [X-Rite]. No inconsistent, unreliable Chinese lighting and storage here.
