The Apple iPad and the photographer
Since Apple [announced] the [iPad] there has been – as usual with new announcements from Apple – a lot of talk about it. Is it really just a “super-size me” iPod touch and does it bring any benefits for the photographer in mind?

I would love to use to iPad as a live-view monitor on location or in the studio. With a HD DSLRs this becomes even more intriguing. Therefore we would need a commitment from camera-manufacturers like Canon and Nikon to develop an app for this cause. As the iPad is limited in its performance and iPhone OS anything other, like editing RAWs or shooting tethered, is just a wish.
But for a photographer using the iPad for his daily email-communication and possibility to showcase a multimedia portfolio on it, the live-view function would be a deal-maker, at least for me. How the announced camera-connector works in real-life has to be determined, but i assume it might be a good [second] backup-option and maybe useful for showing JPGs to clients on a shoot.
